Basic Bread Machine Bread

This is the bread I bake a few times a week. As you can see it is very basic. But it's tasty and gets the job done, so why fix something that's not broken?

Add to bread machine pan in order:

2 cups tepid water
1 TBSP active dry yeast
1 tsp salt
4 TBSP wheat gluten (optional but gives a much better rise)
4 cups whole wheat flour

Set bread machine for 2 lb. whole wheat loaf. When finished baking, score for slicing: 16 equal slices would be 120 calories each, 20 thin slices would be 100 calories each.

  1. I ordered a bread machine so I could make this recipe! It just came today and I am going to try it out in just a few minutes. I can't wait! I don't have the wheat gluten yet, though, so I'm hoping it turns out.

btw, this is Lea (chanelbarbie on GR) but I'm using my dh's google account.

  4. Add 2 tbsp of cinnamon and a cup of raisins and you've got some pretty kick ass cinnamon raisin bread!
